The CLEAP project continued to support economically poor and vulnerable families by strengthening their economic resilience through targeted income-generating activities (IGA). During this period, 23 additional vulnerable families received support. The support was provided through a cost-sharing approach, which helped promote sustainability and encouraged local ownership. Among the supported families, 12 received financial contributions from their respective local governments, while 11 families were supported directly by the CLEAP project of Loo Niva. This shared financing approach strengthened coordination between the project and local authorities and helped align child protection and livelihood support with local development priorities.
In terms of coverage, 11 families were supported in Bhageshwar and 12 families in Nawadurga Rural Municipality. Families were selected carefully based on clear vulnerability criteria, with special attention to households facing financial difficulties, child protection concerns, and challenges in accessing education. To ensure fairness and wider reach, one poor and vulnerable family was selected from each project-supported school in close coordination with the schools.
