The Local Advocacy and Monitoring Committee (LAMC) has launched an initiative to combat child marriage in Konjyosom-5 Bhardeu. From March 17 to April 9, LAMC organized meetings and community orientations with local stakeholders to raise awareness and foster commitment against child marriage. Supported by Ward 5 Bhardeu, Loo Niva, Patan CBR, and Girls Not Brides Nepal, the program included sessions on child marriage laws and community action. It reached 124 community members, who discussed the legal and social implications of child marriage and signed a declaration of commitment. The initiative emphasized the importance of verifying ages before marriage and highlighted the need for public anti-child marriage commitments, legal action against violations, and counseling services.
