The District Election Office of Dadeldhura district conducted a district-level advocacy action on child protection during the election period with the technical support from Loo Niva on February 26. A total of 63 participants (58 males and 5 females), including political party representatives, government officials, and civil society stakeholders, participated in the event.
The program aimed to prevent the involvement of children in party political activities in the upcoming election of the House of Representatives and to strengthen compliance with the election code of conduct. A key outcome of the program was the endorsement of an eight-point commitment pledge by major political parties, formally agreeing not to involve children in any election-related activities.
Participants also raised concerns regarding previous violations and emphasized the need for fair, transparent, and child-protected electoral practices. Officials and experts highlighted relevant legal provisions on child protection and called for strict adherence to the election code of conduct.
The program concluded with a shared commitment to safeguard child rights and ensure a clean, ethical, and child-free electoral environment in Dadeldhura.
