An orientation on the School Improvement Plan (SIP) was successfully conducted on 10 February 2026 in collaboration with the Local Education Committee of Mahankal Rural Municipality. A total of 35 participants attended the program, including 7 School Management Committee (SMC) members, 23 principals and teachers, and 5 government representatives. The main objectives of the orientation were to strengthen school governance and improve the quality of education.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Mahendra Bista, who presented SIP as a strategic and transformative planning tool rather than just a formal requirement. The orientation focused on key areas such as inclusive and equitable education, child protection and safeguarding, comprehensive school safety, and environmentally sustainable (Green School) practices.
During the program, local leaders highlighted the municipality's 94.35% SEE pass rate and emphasized the importance of maintaining and improving these achievements through systematic and effective planning. The discussion also encouraged a shift from traditional planning approaches to more practical and modern methods. Key suggestions included promoting student-centered and activity-based teaching, using data for better planning and results, strengthening teacher capacity development, and increasing the active involvement of SMCs and the community.
Overall, the orientation served as an important platform for reflection and alignment, motivating stakeholders to adapt to changing educational needs while ensuring inclusion, quality, and accountability in schools.
