Loo Niva, in collaboration with the Local Education Committee (LEC) of Konjyosom Rural Municipality, Patan CBR, and Yuwalaya, organized a two-day School Improvement Plan (SIP) Workshop on 5 and 6 December 2025. The workshop brought together SMC and PTA members from 16 schools, local government representatives, and education experts to strengthen evidence-based, inclusive, and realistic school planning. The focus was on reviewing and improving draft SIPs, providing technical guidance for data-driven planning, and finalizing SIPs for submission and endorsement by the Rural Municipality.
A key highlight of the workshop was school-led presentations, where all 16 schools presented their draft SIPs and received expert feedback and peer review. Discussions helped strengthen alignment between identified problems, objectives, activities, budgets, and indicators. Common priority areas emerged, including teacher professional development, student attendance, parental engagement, learning achievement, and improvement of infrastructure and ICT facilities. Resource persons emphasized a shift in planning mindset; positioning SIPs as practical tools for improving learning outcomes rather than compliance or budgeting documents, while also stressing realistic planning, evidence-based prioritization, and effective use of SIP funds.
Participants also discussed key challenges such as low or declining student enrollment, weak learning achievement in some subjects, limited ICT access and digital skills, infrastructure gaps, and uneven teacher workload. As a way forward, schools are committed to incorporating expert feedback into their final SIPs and submitting them to the Education Section of the Rural Municipality by December 2025. The workshop concluded with shared commitments to strengthen monitoring, accountability, and community engagement, alongside continued technical support for SIP implementation. Overall, the interaction reinforced a common understanding that SIPs are living documents that require collaboration, regular review, and data-driven decision-making to ensure sustainable school improvement and better learning outcomes for children.
