Loo Niva provided technical and facilitation support for developing Codes of Conduct and establishing Child Protection Systems in 11 project schools, 6 in Nawadurga and 5 in Bhageshwar rural municipality, during the month of May 2025. The program was facilitated by Loo Niva staffs, expert and chief of women and children section of both RM.
A total of 11 events were organized with active participation from the school management committee, parent-teacher associations (PTAs), and students. In total, 221 people, including 98 females, participated in the program. 26 participants from the Dalit community, 23 from Janajati groups, and 22 children under the age of 18 participated in the program.
During the sessions, participants learned about the value of having a child-friendly code of conduct and the need for a strong child protection system in schools. They discussed local challenges, identified risks, and agreed on preventive actions and responsibilities. Most of the schools had drafted their codes of conduct at the end of the program.
The initiative helped raise awareness, improve capacity, and strengthen the sense of ownership and responsibility within the school communities. It is a major step toward building safer, respectful, and child-friendly schools in the project areas.
