INTRODUCTION OF LOO NIVA

In 1994, group of young school students ran the children’s Library with CWIN support, since then Loo Niva has emerged as a social organization and promotion of child rights in Nepal. It was established in 1997 as a non - governmental organization for the best interest of children‘s holistic development.

It conducts various programmes from health to environment awareness and works with the community at the grassroot level towards preventing exploitation and marginalization of underprivileged children. It also runs recreational activities, education support with active child participation in them for physical, psychological and overall development of children. Foremost it is committed to build an optimal and healthy society for children and youths.

Loo Niva has emerged as an advocate organization on the right of child and is active in conducting various programmes for child and community development through a systematic process of empowerment and awareness.

A nation where every child and youth enjoys her/his rights in friendly environment.

Mission
Loo Niva works to ensure quality education and better health of children and youths with their participation and to influence policy on the basis of research and best practices through empowering community and network.

Goal
By the end of December 2010, marginalized children and youths of southern VDCs of Lalitpur and Kathmandu will have mainstreamed and completed formal education, received health and hygiene services and empowered to claim their rights through children & youths associations.
